THE BAYSIDE YANKEES WILL HOST THE 23rd ANNUAL NEW YORK LIBERTY TOURNAMENT
FORMAT:
Wood Bat Tournament
10 Teams total ( two five team divisions).
5 Game Guarantee.
Game will be played at Pace University , Fordham University and St. Joseph School for the Deaf
Entrance fee will be $950.00

Dates: Wednesday July 1st to Sunday July 5th
Top two teams in each division play single elimination for championship.
A team trophy will be awarded to the Champions and Runner-up of the 2009 New York Liberty Tournament. In addition, individual awards will be given to the tournament Most Valuable Player and Most Outstanding Pitcher. Each head coach should nominate one position player and one pitcher from his team after the completion of round robin play, Saturday, July 4th. Please submit this information along with the players tournament statistics to Mr. Marc Cuseta via telephone (718) 441-3757 or fax (718) 805-8756. The individual awards will be presented at the awards ceremony at Fordham University after the completion of the championship game on Sunday, July 5th.
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND QUALIFICATIONS:
After completion of the the entire round robin on Saturday, the top two (2) teams in each division will qualify for the championship round. Tie breakers will be determined by:
1. head to head play
2. least runs allowed
3. most runs scored

TOURNAMENT RULES:
Straight American League Rules with the following exceptions. Courtesy runner for the pitcher & catcher only, optional with less than two outs, mandatory with two outs. Mercy rule - 10 runs after 5 innings. 8 runs after 6 innings. College slide rule – must slide or avoid collisions. All games are with wood bats and played until a winner is decided. No Time Limits. Games that have reached the required 5 innings “official game” are subject to weather and/or darkness related termination. No protests, umpires ruling are final unless a specific rules violation occurs. The tournament director reserves the right to have final discretion on all disputes and any re-scheduling due to weather.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The championship team & runner-up will receive a team trophy. A Most Valuable Player Award and a Most Outstanding Pitcher Award will be given at the post championship game ceremony. Each manager may nominate a player from his team for each award. You must submit the player, along with his complete and accurate tournament stats, to the tournament director, after the completion of pool play on Saturday evening, 7/04
